It features a metal wire system on the inside, which is combined with springs to create a support frame. This frame is covered in fabric and then overlaid with cushioning material, which provides extra support.

Innerspring mattresses are great for folks who tend to sleep on their backs. This is because it's quite firm. It also offers great ventilation, since the spaces between the springs are hollow. As such, it's a good option for warm-weather countries like South Africa.
