Double Sided vs. No Turn Mattresses
To flip or not to flip, that is the question to ask (and one which we will answer) in our Double Sided vs. No Turn Mattress comparison! But before we delve into this interesting subject in more detail, let's take a closer look at the two very different mattress types that are our competitors in this Bed King "bout for the bed".
The Difference is in the Design!
A No Turn Mattress is designed with a single sided upholstered or padded mattress upper, which has a "non-skid" surface on the opposite bottom side that is meant to minimise mattress movement when in use. Although this mattress is not meant to be flipped, it is recommended that the mattress is still rotated (bottom to top direction) from time to time. Inside the mattress is made up of a high density base and multiple layers of support foam, however there might be slight variations depending on the individual mattress manufacturer's specifications.
Double Sided Mattresses are generally manufactured with a supportive coil system which is surrounded by layers of padding. They are usually manufactured using Continues Coil, Bonnell or Pocket Spring innersprings to ensure comfort and support. Because of the material used to create them, they ironically tend to be heavier than No Turn Mattresses. As with No Turn Mattresses, the type of material used to manufacture a Double Sided Mattress will vary by supplier specification and mattress type. Double Sided Mattress or No Turn Mattress?
The fact is, they are BOTH good if produced by manufacturers such as those that we stock. From the well-known Serta and Simmons brands, there is literally a Double Sided Mattress or No Turn Mattress for your exact sleep needs. However, there is one Double Sided vs. No Turn Mattresses buying tip we'll leave you with:
"If you're looking for cotton or wool padded non-pillow top mattress then opt for a Double Sided Mattress. If however you're looking for a pillow top or a mattress with foam padding, then a No Turn Mattress is what you'll need."
