Winter Fashion for the Bedroom

May 28, 2015

Winter Fashion for the Bedroom

There is nothing better than altering your bedroom fashion according to the seasons, and winter is the season that you will experience the most fun doing this. The bedroom is easily the most cosy and intimate room in the house so why not trend it up a bit with a wide selection of pillows, duvets, throws, and lighting for winter.

1. Pillows, Pillows, and more Pillows

Feather pillows, memory foam pillows, body pillows, continental pillows, and bolster pillows. We want them all, and why wouldn’t we? A collection of comfortable pillows is simply heavenly and winter is the perfect season to bury yourself in a mound of soft cosiness. Choosing the right pillow to sleep with is important as it will provide the necessary support and it will assist you in achieving an undisturbed good night’s sleep. However, there are no requirements when it comes to decorative pillows so allow yourself to go mad.

2. Spice things up with some Cosy Throws

Throws are abundant in colour, from the gentle pastels to the rich vibrant and brighter tones. Not only that, but you get to choose between sumptuous knits, Egyptian cotton, cool cottons, and smooth silks. The only rule when it comes to throws is that more is more. Nothing is better than a bedroom that is generously laden with a wide variety of throws. Drape them over your bed, headboard, and chairs for a comfortable look.

3. Rugs, Slippers, and Fluffy Socks

Shag and Flokati rugs are a fun and warm element to add to your space. Along with slippers and socks, these rugs will be responsible for keeping your feet warm and cosy during the chilly winter months. The best part about this is that if you’re battling to choose the right rug for your room then you could always try layering them up for a warm bohemian effect.

4. Use Candles for a warm and inviting Atmosphere

Candles are not only meant for lighting purposes, they are also a perfect decorative tool. Candles give off a warm and gentle glow, turning your bedroom into a peaceful and tranquil environment.

Not only that, but they are also great for times when load shedding strikes. Place three or four candles around the room to create a perimeter of warm welcoming light around the bedroom, but make sure they are all snuffed before you get some quality sleep.
