Size Does Matter in the Bedroom

Size Does Matter in the Bedroom

When it comes to buying a mattress that is! In fact the selection of the right size mattress for your bedroom is not as easy as you might think and needs to take a number of different variables into consideration.

1. Where will the bed be placed and how big is the space it will be in?
You need to ask yourself where you will be placing the bed. Will it be in a corner, a nook or even an alcove? Will it be near a window or close to a cupboard, and if so will the doors be able to open once the bed is in the room? You will also need to know the size and measurements of your room.

2. Who will be sleeping in the bed?
You need to know if you are going to be sharing the bed and what kind of sleeper you and your partner are. Is he or she a sprawled sleeper? Or maybe they prefer to sleep in the foetal position? Or maybe you have children and they like to cuddle on the bed? All of these factors come into play when deciding on a bed size. After all, you don’t want to be uncomfortable while relaxing with your partner, family or even pet while in bed.

3. Are you a restless sleeper?
Do you move about or thrash in your sleep? If so, you’ll need more space than most.

4. How wide is your front door, hallway and do you have stairs?
This question is often forgotten in the excitement of buying a new bed, but it can prove to be a frustrating oversight if we deliver your bed, but cannot get it into your bedroom.

5. How much are you willing to spend?
For many people price is an issue. Speak to one of our trained BedKing staff and we’ll help find the best bed for you, your home and of course your pocket.
