Clean Your Room for a Better Night’s Sleep

Most people do not realise it, but a clean room and not just a comfortable bed can help a person get a good night’s sleep. In fact, a cluttered and unkempt room can affect ones sleep for a number of reasons…

Dust and Allergens

How often do you vacuum your room? The more often the better, because dust and allergens can build up which affect your breathing while you are asleep. If you have pets that wonder in and out of your room this vacuuming at least twice a week is essential as you want to keep their dander from affecting your air quality. 

Change your sheet regularly! You need to put clean sheets on to a bed at least once a week to help prevent the accumulation of dead skin cells. These dead cells help to add to the dust levels in a room. 

Clutter in the Bedroom

Do you have a TV, Computer or Cell Phone in your bedroom? If you answered yes to any (or all of) the above, then you might want to consider removing them. This is because electronics can be very disruptive when it comes to getting a good night sleep.  But why is this? It’s not just the noise they make, but it also the light that they emit, which tells the body to stop releasing melatonin (the human sleep hormone) which in turn delays its relaxing effects and postpones sleep.
