What do my dreams mean?August 20, 2012
Over the next few months we will be posting a number of blog articles about dreams and what they could mean to you and your subconscious. These blog posts are by no means meant as a hard and fast rule of dream interpretation, but more of a dream guide. To get the ball rolling we will be starting with the first of 5 posts based on animals and what they mean in dreams. Our first animal that we will be discussing is the snake…
Dreams about Snakes
Snakes are fairly common in dreams and if you are bitten by one it can signify hidden fears and worries that are threatening you. This could be your subconscious telling you that something in your life could become a problem. Alternatively snakes can be seen as a phallic symbol and could signify temptation, even more so if the snake in your dream is on a bed or mattress. If fear of snakes is also involved in the dream it could mean that there is a fear of intimacy or commitment.
People represented by snakes
If a snake represents a person in a dream there is a possibility that you subconsciously see that person as callous and ruthless. However, if the snake represents you it may indicate self-renewal or positive changes.
Other meanings of snake dreams
When dreaming of a snake with a head at each end your dream could be suggesting that you are feeling as if you are being pulled in two different directions and your subconscious sees your actions as counterproductive.
However when dreaming of a snake or snakes without a head or eyes it could mean one of two things, either you are refusing to see the danger in a situation that lies before you or somebody close to you is trying to blindside you.
(Keep an eye out for next weeks blog post on wolves and what they signify in dreams.)
