September 29, 2016

Sleep tight with Silentnight

Established in North Yorkshire in 1949 by Tom and Joan Clarke, Clarke’s Mattresses Limited was borne. For the next five years the Clarke’s would build a brand that was to become synonymous with high quality, affordable sleeping solutions. The beds and mattresses produced by Clarke’s Mattresses Limited grew in reputation and popularity, and in 1951 the company changed its name to Silentnight Limited, and moved to larger premises so that production could be increased to meet the growing demand for these wonderfully comfortable beds.

The brand grew from strength to strength, and the company’s reputation grew. So much so that in 1979 the then Prime Minister, Margaret Thatcher, opened the Silentnight showroom.

The 1980’s saw Silentnight Limited’s success as sleep experts rocket, to the point that they became the United Kingdom’s number one bed brand. They achieved this by developing a new and unique spring system that would ensure that the quality of sleep provided by their beds was second to none.

Silentnight have been pushing the envelope when it comes to sleep for over seventy years. The company is committed to producing the finest quality beds, using the most up to date technology, the finest craftsmen and time honoured methods to produce the number one range of beds across the UK. All the upholstered beds are handmade, and come with a guarantee that Silentnight stands by. No corners have been cut when it comes to quality, safety or slumber satisfaction. You can rest easy knowing that you are sleeping on a Silentnight bed.

At Silentnight they say they “the secret to a great night’s sleep” and to get to this point they have been diligent and single minded in their commitment to continually push new boundaries when it comes to sleep technology. The research carried out into sleeping habits of their customers or potential customers as well as staying abreast of industry trends and scientific developments means that the bed makers and sleep scientists at Silentnight are producing new and innovative sleep solutions for everyone.

One of the company’s great breakthroughs came with the Miracoil spring system that was one of the first “no roll together” bed systems developed. Brilliantly illustrated by the brand’s Hippo and Duck, this soon became a standard for many bed manufacturers across the world. With the brand’s emphasis on quality, you are assured that you will sleep soundly on a Silentnight mattress night after night. Browse our Silentnight range of mattresses and shop online today!
