Five Funky Ideas to Revamp your Bedroom

October 25, 2016

Revamp your bedroom with these five funky tips

There are so many brilliant ideas out there when it comes to home decor and interior design tips that there is no need to live in an old, drab bedroom for a second longer. The internet means that we now have a wealth of knowledge and resources at our fingertips, and there amazing DIY tutorials on everything from how to whitewash old wooden furniture to how to reupholster a headboard.

The ever increasing popularity of homespun decorating ideas and craft DIY projects has led to more and more people reinventing their personal sense of style over and over in ways that are clever, creative and don’t break the bank. This means that you can keep up with the trends season after season and keep changing things around. The trick to this however is to have one or two classic, timeless pieces that don’t date and don’t go in and out of fashion in the same way the beehive hairstyle did - it was great at the time but looking back you wouldn’t be caught dead sporting that kind of look!

Here are five funky ways to revamp any bedroom:

1) Accent Wall - this is a great way to create a big wow without having completely change the entire configuration of the room. One wall, carefully selected to stand out, decorated in either a striking and beautiful wallpaper or paint effect can be all you need.

Headboard - with a little bit of effort and imagination you can transform an old, dull headboard into a wonderful statement piece in your bedroom. A headboard doesn’t require reams of fabric so you can splash out a bit and get some really exquisite material. There are really easy to follow instructions on YouTube that make it look very easy.

Cupboard Revamp - turn your old decrepit cupboard into a work of art. A great resource for ideas here is Pinterest. There are millions of wonderful ideas including wallpapering the inside and panels on the outside or simply applying a bright coat of paint with softer accents to make it look aged.

Light up your life - lighting really is everything. With simple changes from cold white to warm white light bulbs, a move from harsh overhead lighting to more subtle ambient lighting you can totally transform the atmosphere of a space, and the way it feels. Softer hues and gentle patterns also go along way to transform a bedroom.

Bed down for the night - no matter what you do to make your bedroom look amazing, if you are not sleeping on the right bed none of it will make any difference. THE most important element in any bedroom is the bed. Make sure you rest your weary head somewhere your body can really rest and recuperate from the hard days.
