How To Get a Good Nights Sleep [INFOGRAPHIC]

For example, did you know that on average, women have worse sleep patterns than men? Also, did you know that one in 3 workers in countries such as Britain find it difficult to sleep, or that 43% of sleeping pill users have been on those pills for more than 10 years? This is because there are a number of physical factors that influence the quality of sleep, including:

  • Body Discomfort
  • Noise
  • One’s Partner
  • Room Temperature
  • Light Levels

To combat this you need a 5-point sleep plan that allows you to:

  • Keep regular hours
  • Create a restful sleeping environment (see yesterdays post)
  • Make sure that your bed is comfortable
  • Do more exercise
  • Cut down on stimulants such as coffee

If you are determined to get the most out of your sleep you first need to start by giving up weekend lie-ins. This is because they disrupt our natural body clock and make it harder to sleep at night. To combat this we need to go to bed at regular times (try and avoid late nights) and ensure that we get the right amount of sleep during the night.
