Going Beyond the Bed Bedroom Guide: Part 1April 14, 2014
Part 1: Headboards:
When most people talks about their bed they only seem to think about their mattress. Don’t get me wrong, the mattress is the most important part of your bed. A good, comfortable mattress that guarantees a good night’s sleep is one of the most important things when it comes to your sleep. But there is more to your bed than just the mattress. This week we are going to take a quick look at some of the other things that you should look at when thinking about your bed.
A good headboard can completely change the way that you look at your bedroom. When you are choosing a headboard for your bed you need to think about the following things:
If you have a small bedroom you can’t have a massive headboard, not only will it look out of place, but it will dominate the bedroom in a bad way. Your headboard needs to fit not only the proportions of your bed, but also the bedroom itself. If you are unsure, a neutral headboard like this Berlin Headboard will work in most rooms.
Normally, the higher your ceilings the higher your headboard can be. However if your bedroom is thin and high ceilinged, you should avoid overly high headboards unless you have proportional space and sufficient light.
Obviously your headboard has to match the stylings of your bedroom. But the texture and detail of a headboard can go a long way in adding to your bedroom’s atmosphere. Using a wooden, metal, leather or fabric headboard will each give your bedroom a completely different feel. Looking for a great wooden headboard? Try this Nautical Headboard which is made out of solid wood.
Looking for something different? Try this two toned headboard which is perfect for any modern bedroom.
The next part of this Going Beyond the Bed Bedroom Guide will focus on selecting the most useful and elegant base for your bed.
